Introduction to Shell Scripting

Basic Shell Scripting

Environment Variables

Arguments

Loops

In this video we introduce you to Loops. Loops are an important part of shell scripts as they allow you to execute a set of commands against multiple objects. You’ll be using Loops regularly, so be sure to watch this video!

Operators

Whether we like it or not, we use Operators to perform our Arithmetic. As with our Loops, Operators are important as we use them to add, subtract, multiply, divide and more. You’ll learn them too…right here!

Redirection

Scripts are great, but sometimes you want to save a copy of its output. Sometimes, you don’t want to see any output at all. In this video we show you how to both suppress your scripts output, as well as show successes, failures and export to things like text and html.

The IF Statement
Duration: 10:01
In this video we take a look at using the IT Statement. The IF Statement allows you to evaluate conditions to see if they are true and then perform a task based on the results. For example, if our script is looking for a file to be present on our hard drive, then we can use the IF Statement to look for the file. If it is there, we can use the IF Statement to perform a task. If the file is not there, we can again use the IF Statement to do something else.

    Hello, uncompressing this file creates a folder that is missing the first rar file… so the folder contains *.r00 to *.r07

    how i can open this 001,002,003,004
    winrar can open the 001 file only
    so what program open them?

    I hope there is missing *.cue file, since we required when we extract the bin files…can you plesae upload the *.cue file

    Hi Quay,Ive downloaded the files.I clicked on the part1.rar,I get other winrar files,a rar file and a sfv and an nfo file.I click on 0.rar and I get message to put next file.Please help
